UltraSense Project Achieves Major Milestone at M18 Review

We are proud to share exciting news from the European Project UltraSense: the consortium has successfully completed its Month 18 (M18) periodic report, which has passed the European Commission Review with a very positive evaluation. This milestone confirms the project’s strong progress and alignment with its ambitious objectives.

Next-Generation Wearable Sensing Platform

UltraSense is developing a groundbreaking wearable sensing platform for decentralized health monitoring. By combining ultrasound, bioimpedance (BIA), and graphene-based sensors, the project is paving the way for non-invasive, continuous monitoring of key physiological parameters.

Graphene FET Technology at the Core

At the heart of UltraSense lies graphene field-effect transistor (FET) technology, enabling highly sensitive detection of subtle biological signals. This innovation supports accurate tracking of metabolic health and lifestyle factors, addressing critical gaps in personalised and preventive healthcare.

Target Applications

The project focuses on:

  • Metabolic health: tackling metabolic syndrome (MetSyn) through early detection and monitoring.
  • Lifestyle management: empowering individuals with actionable insights for healthier living.

The consortium is advancing flexible, integrated wearable systems, enhanced by AI-driven data analysis. This ensures that raw sensor data is transformed into meaningful health insights, supporting both patients and healthcare providers in real time.

At the M18 European Commission Review Meeting, the project received a very positive evaluation from the Project Officer. This endorsement highlights:

  • Strong technical progress
  • Effective collaboration across the consortium
  • Clear alignment with the project’s objectives

This achievement reinforces UltraSense’s role as a frontrunner in next-generation health monitoring technologies.
